About

To Aesthate AMKE is a non profit organization engaged in artistic research and production, particularly focusing on the conjunction of theory, practice and social participation.

With our span of activities, from the organization of conferences, to educational and participatory workshops, and to the production and support for performing, visual, music and sonic-based arts, we strive to address diverse audiences through artistic processes.

We explore new formats and modalities to accommodate participation, accessibility and inclusion for all art-and-theory professionals, students, enthusiasts, emerging artists and younger generations, in consideration of diverse backgrounds, age, and neurocognitive differences.

For this, we have developed a network of associates engaged in accessibility, art education and mediation, as well as with higher academic institutions and peer organisations, particularly focusing on philosophy, anthropology, civic engagement and artistic production.

Until recently, To Aesthate was a studio-mate in project space “dot.wip”, an open collaborative studio for interdisciplinary experimentation between science, theory, and the performing, visual and sonic arts, located in Koukaki, Athens. To Aesthate was founded in Athens in 2018 by Dana and Katerina Papachristou, before obtaining its non-profit character in 2024, run by Yorgos Samantas.
